DAVV Reschedules Exams Due to NEET UG 2026 and State Service Exam Clash
DAVV Exam Rescheduling for NEET UG 2026 and State Service Exam

DAVV Postpones Undergraduate and Postgraduate Exams Amid National and State Test Conflicts

In a significant administrative move, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) in Indore has announced the rescheduling of several undergraduate and postgraduate examinations. This decision comes in response to scheduling conflicts with two major upcoming tests: the NEET UG 2026 and the State Service Preliminary Examination 2026 conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Service Commission.

Revised Timetable and Specific Changes

The university has uploaded the revised examination timetable on its official website, detailing adjustments across multiple courses. Officials clarified that the state and forest service preliminary examination, scheduled for April 26, has necessitated the postponement of the BEd second semester paper. Originally set for April 25, this exam will now be conducted on April 28.

Furthermore, in anticipation of NEET-UG on May 3, DAVV has cancelled all undergraduate second-year examinations that were slated for May 2 and May 4. No papers will be held on these dates, aligning with district administration guidelines.

Official Rationale and Student Impact

Exam controller Ashesh Tiwari emphasized that this rescheduling follows strict district administration mandates. These guidelines prohibit conducting any examinations one day before or after NEET-UG, considering the massive scale and logistical demands of this national-level test.

The changes are expected to impact approximately 55,000 students appearing in various undergraduate examinations. Additionally, around 4,000 BEd students will benefit from the revised dates. University officials noted that nearly 80 percent of BEd candidates are also registered for the State Service Preliminary Examination, making this adjustment crucial to avoid conflicts and ensure fair participation.

Concurrent Result Declarations and Academic Reforms

Simultaneously, DAVV has begun declaring results for recently concluded undergraduate third-year examinations. The bachelor of social work (BSW) result, released first, recorded a pass percentage of 45, with approximately 10 students absent. The university plans to release remaining results, including those for B Com, by April 30, followed by BA and BSc results by May 10.

In a related academic reform, DAVV has introduced a new review mechanism to enhance transparency and accuracy. Under this system, any examination result with a pass percentage below 40 will undergo double scrutiny by a special committee before publication. This initiative aims to improve academic outcomes and bolster student confidence in the evaluation process.

Broader Context and Administrative Coordination

The rescheduling highlights the complex coordination required between educational institutions and state authorities during peak examination periods. By aligning its schedule with national and state-level tests, DAVV demonstrates a commitment to minimizing disruptions for students pursuing multiple academic and career pathways.

Students are advised to regularly check the university website for the latest updates and detailed timetables to ensure they are well-prepared for their revised examination dates.
