CJI Surya Kant Chief Guest at CNLU Convocation Jan 3

The annual convocation of Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) in Patna is set to be a landmark event, with the Chief Justice of India, Justice Surya Kant, gracing the ceremony as the chief guest. The convocation is scheduled for January 3, where Justice Kant will deliver the keynote address to the graduating students.

Distinguished Gathering of Legal Luminaries

The event will witness a prestigious assembly of judges and officials. State Education Minister Sunil Kumar will attend as the guest of honour. Presiding over the proceedings will be Patna High Court's Acting Chief Justice and CNLU Chancellor, Justice Sudhir Singh. Adding further prestige, three sitting judges of the Supreme Court—Justices Ahsanuddin Amanullah, Sanjay Karol, and Rajesh Bindal—are confirmed to attend, alongside several judges from the Patna High Court.

A Grand Celebration of Academic Achievement

This year's convocation is particularly significant due to the large number of graduates. A total of 1,134 students are poised to receive their degrees. This cohort includes 34 PhD scholars, 339 postgraduate students, and 761 undergraduate students. In recognition of outstanding academic performance, 76 students will be awarded medals for excellence.

Inauguration of New Facilities

The convocation day will also be marked by the formal inauguration of two major infrastructure projects at the university. The newly constructed Ashoka Auditorium will be opened, providing a state-of-the-art venue for future events. Furthermore, CNLU's Cyber Security and Digital Forensics Centre will be launched, highlighting the institution's focus on emerging legal and technological fields.

The ceremony is expected to draw a wide array of dignitaries from the academic and administrative spheres. Vice-chancellors and registrars from other National Law Universities and top institutions have been invited. Senior Bihar government officials, including Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, Finance Principal Secretary Anand Kishor, and Higher Education Secretary Rajiv Raushan, are also anticipated to be present.

CNLU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Faizan Mustafa, confirmed all arrangements for the grand event, which underscores Patna's growing importance as a centre for legal education in India. The presence of the country's top judicial authority and other eminent personalities makes this convocation a historic moment for the university and its students.
