In a significant move aimed at academic transformation, Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU) in Patna has unveiled ambitious plans to champion research and implement the National Education Policy 2020. The announcement came directly from Vice-Chancellor Sharad Kumar Yadav during a student interaction event held on the university campus this Wednesday.
Focus on High-End Research and Infrastructure
The university will make special efforts to establish stem cell and astronomy laboratories of international standards, marking a leap towards advanced scientific research in the region. This initiative is a core part of AKU's strategy to promote cutting-edge studies and adopt the provisions of the National Education Policy-2020.
VC Sharad Kumar Yadav emphasized that changes are being introduced to the university's teaching system with the clear objective of improving students' academic results. He also expressed appreciation for the recently concluded convocation and the successful hosting of the zonal meet of the University Association of India on the AKU campus.
Bridging the Gap Between Students and Administration
The interaction programme served as a direct channel for students to voice their opinions on teaching and training needs. The VC assured the gathering that all raised issues would be addressed with speedy resolution, fostering a more responsive academic environment.
Manisha Prakash, Head of the Department of Mass Communication, highlighted the crucial role such dialogues play in shaping student careers. Echoing the sentiment of improved governance, former LNMU Vice-Chancellor Rajmani Prasad Sinha noted that this new tradition of open interaction would effectively reduce the distance between the student body and the university administration.
Streamlining Examinations and Academic Processes
Examinations Controller Rajvi Ranjan addressed the gathering, outlining the university's commitment to a robust evaluation system. He assured students that AKU is constantly striving to conduct examinations in a time-bound, transparent, and smooth manner. Necessary reforms are being undertaken to make the examination process more effective and student-friendly.
The programme saw participation from key faculty members and officials from across all schools, including Sandeep Kumar Dubey (Mass Communication), Shad Asgar Moini (School of River Studies), and Rakesh Kumar Singh (School of Nano Science), signaling a university-wide commitment to this renewed academic vision.
