Mangaluru: Vivekananda Law College is set to organize its third moot court competition at Sujnana Deepika Auditorium on May 9 and 10. The event will be inaugurated by S Abdul Nazeer, Governor of Andhra Pradesh and former Supreme Court judge, while Justice N Kotiswar Singh of the Supreme Court will serve as the chief guest.
Inaugural Ceremony Highlights
Prof C Basavaraju, Vice-Chancellor of Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi, and Shekhar G Devasa, Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court, will also be present at the inauguration. The program will be presided over by K Krishna Bhat, Secretary of Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha.
Valedictory Function
At the valedictory function on Sunday, Justice ES Indiresh of the Karnataka High Court will deliver the inaugural address. Justice V Srishananda and Justice TN Inavally of the high court will be the chief guests. Additionally, J Jagannatha Rai, President of the Puttur Bar Association, and Srinivas Murthy Konda, Senior Advocate of the Andhra Pradesh High Court and National President of the Akhil Bharatiya Adhivakta Parishad, will attend.
Participation and Mentorship
Around 20 law colleges from across India are expected to participate in the competition. Judges of various ranks will mentor and judge the moot proceedings. The presence of judges from the Supreme Court of India and high courts is anticipated to inspire law students, according to a release from the college.
