UP Board Class 12 Practical Marks Upload via Mobile App with Double-Entry System
UP Board Class 12 Practical Marks Upload via Mobile App

In a significant move to streamline the examination process and enhance accuracy, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP), commonly known as the UP Board, has implemented a new online system for uploading marks of practical examinations for Class 12 (Intermediate) students. This initiative, which commenced on Saturday, utilizes a mobile app featuring a double-entry mechanism designed to eliminate any possibilities of errors in mark submission.

Transition to a Fully Digital System

Board secretary Bhagwati Singh highlighted that last year marked the first introduction of the facility for uploading practical exam marks online through a mobile application. At that time, as the system was novel, examiners were instructed to submit marks both online and offline as a precautionary measure to prevent any potential loss of data. Following the successful implementation and positive feedback from that pilot phase, the board has now directed that marks be submitted entirely online for the current academic year.

Double-Entry Upload for Enhanced Accuracy

To ensure greater precision and prevent discrepancies, examiners are required to upload marks twice using the dedicated mobile app. The process involves selecting a group of assigned candidates—with a maximum limit of 80 students at a time—and uploading the awarded marks. After the initial submission, the system automatically reopens a window for re-uploading the same set of marks, allowing for verification of accuracy.

If any mismatch is detected between the two entries, the system displays both sets of marks, enabling the examiner to rectify any incorrect data. Importantly, the system is programmed to reject any erroneous or mismatched entries, thereby maintaining the integrity of the examination results.

Geo-Location Verification and Complaint Portal

According to Vishwanath Mishra, a computer teacher at Shivcharandas Kanhaiyalal Inter College, the app incorporates a geo-location verification feature. Once an examiner logs into the application at the designated examination centre, the system cross-checks the current geographical parameters with the previously recorded location to ensure authenticity and prevent fraudulent activities.

In addition to the mark upload functionality, the board has also provided an online facility for examiners to submit complaints or suggestions related to the practical examinations. Examiners can access this feature by logging onto the official UP Board website using their unique user ID and password. A dedicated section is available for submitting suggestions or complaints, and alternatively, examiners have the option to upload handwritten observations or complaints through a web browser. It is noted that location verification is not required while submitting complaints or suggestions, offering flexibility in this aspect.

This digital transformation aims to reduce administrative burdens, minimize errors, and foster a more transparent and efficient examination process for the UP Board's Class 12 practical assessments.
