Complaint Highlights Teacher Deployment Irregularities in Medchal-Malkajgiri Schools

A formal complaint has been submitted to the District Educational Officer (DEO) of Medchal-Malkajgiri district in Hyderabad, alleging significant irregularities in the deployment of government school teachers. The complaint raises serious concerns about teacher availability and its detrimental impact on classroom instruction and academic activities.

Allegations of Misplaced and Absent Teachers

According to the complaint, numerous teachers posted under the MEO - 2 jurisdiction are not performing their duties in their officially allotted schools, despite being assigned there on record. The complainant stated that while official records indicate 337 teachers are posted in the mandal, a substantial number are reportedly absent from their designated institutions.

The specific allegations include:

  • Four teachers are currently working in administrative offices instead of schools.
  • Thirteen teachers are attached to other schools rather than their original postings.
  • Approximately 80 teachers are said to be irregular in attending their duties, leading to management difficulties.

Impact on Academic Activities and Education Quality

Due to the shortage of teachers in classrooms, several schools are struggling to conduct regular lessons and complete the academic schedule. The complainant alleged that these irregular deployments and absences are severely affecting the quality of education and disrupting normal teaching processes in government schools.

The representation urged the DEO of Medchal-Malkajgiri district to:

  1. Initiate a detailed inquiry into the matter.
  2. Review the existing teacher deployments comprehensively.
  3. Cancel unnecessary attachments and direct teachers to report back to their originally allotted schools to ensure smooth class functioning.

This issue highlights ongoing challenges in the education sector, emphasizing the need for stricter oversight and accountability in teacher management to safeguard student learning outcomes.
