Raichur CEO Directs Village Libraries to Support SSLC Exam Students
In a significant initiative to bolster academic preparation, Raichur Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Ishwar Kumar Kandoo has issued a directive to all gram panchayat librarians across the district. The move aims to provide comprehensive support to students gearing up for the upcoming Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations, which are scheduled to commence on March 18.
Enhanced Library Facilities for Exam Preparation
Through a formal circular distributed to librarians, CEO Kandoo has mandated that necessary facilities be extended to SSLC candidates utilizing village libraries. He emphasized that these libraries must function in a manner that offers students a conducive and productive study environment, crucial for their exam success.
Key instructions include adjusting the existing working hours of gram panchayat libraries, currently from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM, to better accommodate the study needs of students. Libraries are required to maintain a quiet and comfortable atmosphere, particularly during evening hours, to facilitate focused learning.
Infrastructure and Amenities Upgrades
To ensure minimal disruption, Kandoo has advised gram panchayats to prioritize cleanliness, proper lighting, and adequate seating arrangements within library premises. These measures are designed to allow students to prepare for their exams without any inconvenience, creating an optimal setting for academic rigor.
In a supportive gesture, gram panchayats have been instructed to arrange tea and biscuits every evening for students who study in libraries from evening until night. This refreshment provision is to be funded using the panchayats' own resources, highlighting a community-driven approach to student welfare.
Strict Implementation and Oversight
CEO Kandoo has further directed all Panchayat Development Officers (PDOs) to ensure strict implementation of these instructions in the gram panchayats under their jurisdiction. PDOs are tasked with taking necessary steps to support students in their academic preparation, reinforcing the district administration's commitment to educational excellence.
