St Joseph’s Convent Hosts "Melody of Memories" Alumni Meet
St Joseph’s Convent High School resonated with laughter and reminiscence on Sunday as the Alumnae Association of Josephites (AAJ) held its annual reunion. The event, themed "Melody of Memories," was formally inaugurated by Principal Sr Josephine, who lit the traditional lamp alongside the school's senior-most alumnae.
A key highlight was the felicitation of alumni from the 1975 and 2000 batches, who were honored with gold and silver stars to commemorate their jubilee years. In a special recognition, Ranjana Thakur from the 1971 batch was presented with the 'Most Committed Alumna of 2025' award. The gathering was graced by distinguished former students, including Bihar’s first woman IPS officer, Manjari Jaruhar, whose presence served as a great inspiration.
The day was packed with cultural performances, interactive games, and a lively ramp walk where different batches showcased their camaraderie. Shared meals further strengthened the bonds among the former students, making it a truly memorable occasion.
Festive & Academic Celebrations Across City Schools
Meanwhile, Carmel High School celebrated Christmas with deep spiritual devotion. A program organized by Class VI students began with a prayer service expressing gratitude to Lord Jesus. A prayer dance spreading a message of peace and a play depicting the birth of Jesus Christ, emphasizing themes of love and sacrifice, were key features. The joyous atmosphere was amplified by Christmas carols and the delightful arrival of Santa Claus, leading to a vibrant finale. Principal Sr Mridula emphasized Christmas as a festival of love, forgiveness, and service, urging students to spread peace.
At Loyola High School, the graduation ceremony for the outgoing Class XII batch (2025-26) was held amidst excitement and nostalgia. Graduating students received mementos as tokens of remembrance. The event was brightened by performances from junior students and an energizing 'Dance Drama' choir. A special presentation revisiting academic milestones evoked fond memories. Principal Rev Bro Johnson V George addressed the graduates, offering valuable guidance for their future paths.
Personality Development & Sportsmanship on Display
International School hosted a fancy dress competition for students from Nursery to Class V. Young participants impressed the audience with creative performances based on diverse themes like Save Water, Mother India, Artificial Intelligence, Harry Potter, Save Girl Child, and Respect Women. Judges Veena Gupta, Amina Hai, and Ruby Bhushan evaluated the entries and awarded prizes. Principal Nahid Alam and admin Subia Hasan noted that such activities play a significant role in the holistic personality development of children.
Promoting physical fitness and team spirit, Infant Jesus School organized its annual sports meet for students of Classes VI to XII. The event aimed to instill discipline, teamwork, and a competitive spirit. Chief guest Mahendra Kumar, director of the sports department, and special guest Sanjeev Kumar Tandon, managing director of SBPDCL, were in attendance. The audience applauded displays of sports, karate, yoga, mass drill, and gymnastics. A Class IX student was adjudged the best athlete, and the Blue House emerged as the overall champion.
