The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has officially released the hall tickets for the upcoming April 2026 practical examinations. This announcement covers both Secondary (Class 10) and Senior Secondary (Class 12) courses, marking a crucial step for students preparing for their public exams.
How to Download Your Hall Ticket
Registered students can now access their hall tickets through the official NIOS portal. To download the document, candidates must follow a simple online procedure:

- Click on the link labeled "Hall Ticket – Secondary/Senior Secondary Public Exam April 2026."
- Enter your 12-digit enrolment number in the designated field.
- Select the hall ticket type, specifying whether it is for practical or theory exams.
- Click Submit to view your hall ticket on the screen.
- Download and print a copy for examination day reference.
It is important to note that the hall ticket will only be generated if the examination fee for the April 2026 session has been paid and the student's photograph is available in the NIOS database.
Examination Schedule and Details
The practical examinations are scheduled to be conducted from March 17 to April 1, 2026. These exams will take place at designated Accredited Institutions (AIs) and examination centres across India and overseas. The hall ticket serves as a mandatory document for appearing in the examination and contains essential information such as the candidate's name, enrolment number, subject codes, exam centre details, and the specific exam schedule.
Students are strongly advised to carefully verify all details printed on their hall tickets. In case of any discrepancies, they should immediately contact their respective NIOS Regional Centre to resolve the issue before the exam date.
Important Instructions for Candidates
To ensure a smooth examination process, students must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Carry a printed copy of the hall ticket along with a valid photo ID to the examination centre.
- Arrive at the centre well before the reporting time to avoid any last-minute rush.
- Follow all instructions issued by the exam authorities during the practical sessions.
- If unable to download the hall ticket or if it contains incorrect information, contact the NIOS Regional Centre promptly for assistance.
The practical exams are conducted ahead of the theory examinations, whose detailed timetable is expected to be announced separately by NIOS. Once released, the theory exam date sheet will also be made available on the official NIOS website, providing students with a complete overview of their examination schedule.
