National STEM Quiz 4.0: 15 Lakh Students to Compete Online from Jan 7
National STEM Quiz 4.0: Online Test from Jan 7-10

India's largest STEM learning initiative is set to kick off its preliminary round, offering a massive platform for young scientific minds across the nation. The Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST) has announced that the preliminary online test for the National STEM Quiz 4.0 will be held from January 7 at 11:00 am to January 10 at 6:00 pm.

A Nationwide Opportunity for Young Innovators

Envisioned as a cornerstone for building scientific temperament, the quiz has registered a staggering 15,01,249 students from Classes IX to XII. These participants hail from every state and represent all educational boards in the country. The extended four-day window for the online test is a strategic move to ensure flexibility and inclusivity, allowing students from diverse regions and socio-economic backgrounds to participate without barriers.

The initiative, operating under the aegis of the Gujarat Department of Science and Technology, is not just a competition but a comprehensive learning journey titled 'The Journey of the New Generation'. Its core mission is to ignite curiosity, innovation, and a passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) disciplines among the youth.

Substantial Scholarships and Unique Learning Experiences

To recognize and encourage merit, the program is backed by a substantial fund of Rs 2 crore in scholarships and incentives. This financial support is designed to ensure that talented students receive the opportunities they deserve, irrespective of their background.

The rewards extend far beyond monetary prizes. Top-performing students will get the chance to participate in exclusive boot camps at the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) in Gandhinagar. Furthermore, they will gain invaluable exposure through visits to premier scientific institutions. These include iconic establishments like the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Gujarat Science City, and the Vikram A Sarabhai Space Exhibition in Ahmedabad.

Preparation and Support for Participants

GUJCOST has left no stone unturned in preparing students for this challenge. To aid meaningful preparation, the council has published and distributed sample STEM quiz books for both junior and senior categories. These resources are available in English and Gujarati and can also be accessed on the official website.

Authorities at GUJCOST stated, "A three-day mock test window was also provided to all registered students. This helped them familiarize themselves with the digital quiz interface, understand the question patterns, and get into the spirit of the competition in a stress-free manner."

With its massive reach, significant rewards, and focus on holistic development, the National STEM Quiz 4.0 stands as a pivotal initiative to identify and nurture the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators for India.
