Magadh University Appointed Nodal Agency for Bihar Diwas Celebrations

The Bihar state government has officially designated Magadh University (MU) as the nodal agency for coordinating all cultural events related to Bihar Diwas, scheduled to take place in Patna from March 22 to March 24. In a significant administrative move, MU Registrar Binod Kumar Mangalam has been appointed as the nodal officer responsible for overseeing the entire event management process.

Five Universities to Participate in Grand Celebration

According to Registrar Mangalam, a total of five universities from across Bihar will actively participate in the Bihar Diwas festivities. Alongside Magadh University, the participating institutions include Patna University, Patliputra University, Maulana Mazharul Haq Arabic and Persian University, and Aryabhatta Knowledge University. Mangalam will serve as the central coordinator, ensuring seamless collaboration and execution among all participating universities.

Diverse Program Format: Co-curricular and Extra-curricular Activities

The Bihar Diwas program has been meticulously designed to include both co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, offering a rich tapestry of intellectual and cultural engagement. The co-curricular section will feature competitive events such as debates and speech competitions. Notably, the debate topic has been set as Artificial Intelligence (AI), a timely choice given Magadh University's recent establishment of a dedicated AI center on its campus.

On the extra-curricular front, the celebrations will showcase vibrant performances in dance, drama, and music, encompassing both classical and folk traditions. Additionally, a Rangoli competition will be held with the theme 'Barhta Bihar, Ujjawal Bihar' (Growing Bihar, Bright Bihar). For the Mehandi (henna) section, the selected theme is 'Swamvar', adding a traditional and artistic dimension to the festivities.

Challenges and Enthusiasm Amid Tight Timeline

Registrar Mangalam acknowledged the considerable challenges of organizing such a large-scale event on short notice. However, he expressed confidence that the enthusiasm and dedication of the participants would compensate for the time constraints. He attributed the government's decision to appoint Magadh University as the nodal agency to the exceptional management skills of Vice-Chancellor S P Shahi, highlighting the university's proven capabilities in handling complex logistical operations.

This appointment underscores Magadh University's growing prominence in Bihar's educational and cultural landscape, positioning it as a key player in state-level initiatives. The Bihar Diwas events promise to be a grand celebration of the state's heritage, innovation, and communal spirit, bringing together academic institutions in a collaborative showcase of talent and tradition.
