Lucknow Book Fair Attracts Competitive Exam Aspirants with Major Discounts
Stalls selling competitive examination guides and test papers are witnessing a significant surge in visitors at the ongoing Lucknow Book Fair. The primary draw for aspirants is the substantial discount being offered on essential study materials, creating a bustling atmosphere at the fairgrounds.
High Demand for UPSC, NDA, CAT, and Banking Exam Resources
Books and preparation materials for major competitive examinations are the most sought-after items. These include resources for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), National Defence Academy (NDA), Combined Defence Services (CDS), Combined Admission Test (CAT) for IIMs, and various banking sector exams. Students are actively browsing through both solved and unsolved previous years' question papers, along with comprehensive subject-wise preparation guides to aid their studies.
Stall Owners Cite Discounts as Key Factor for Increased Footfall
Stall proprietors have identified the attractive discounts as the major reason behind the increased rush. Most stalls are offering books at approximately 30% below the prevailing market price, with an additional 10% discount on top of that. This combined discount of up to 40% is proving to be a powerful incentive for budget-conscious students.
"Students are arriving with specific lists of required materials. Previous years' examination papers are selling the fastest because they provide crucial insights into the exam pattern and question trends," explained Vishesh Chauhan, a stall owner at the fair.
Students Express Satisfaction with Affordable Resources
Pranay Singh, an aspirant preparing for Staff Selection Commission and banking service exams, shared his experience: "I managed to procure study material for SSC and bank services at a significantly lower price compared to the regular market rates. The savings are substantial."
Bondita Roy, who is preparing for the NET-JRF examination in sociology, noted the convenience and cost benefits: "Finding both solved and unsolved papers at a single location saved me considerable time. Furthermore, the discount made it financially easier to purchase multiple resources I needed."
Shubhankar Mishra, a CAT aspirant, purchased two specialized guides for reasoning and mathematics. He remarked, "These specific guides were not readily available in the general market, so discovering them here was a great advantage for my preparation."
Academic Sections Consistently Draw Attention
Fair director Aakarsh Chandel observed that the sections dedicated to academic and competitive examination materials have consistently attracted significant attention from visitors. This trend highlights the ongoing demand for quality, affordable educational resources among India's youth preparing for various career pathways.
The Lucknow Book Fair, through these discounted offerings, is providing a valuable platform for exam aspirants to access essential study materials at reduced costs, thereby supporting their educational and career ambitions.
