Kozhikode and Kannur Share Early Lead at Kerala School Kalolsavam
The opening day of the State School Kalolsavam witnessed a tight competition between districts, with Kozhikode and Kannur emerging as joint leaders. Both districts secured 180 points each across various cultural categories, setting an exciting pace for the festival.
Thrissur Hosts with Strong Performance
Host district Thrissur demonstrated impressive performance, securing third position with 176 points at the end of the first day. The close margin between the top three districts promises intense competition in the coming days.
Thiruvananthapuram and Palakkad districts claimed the fourth and fifth positions respectively, completing the top five rankings after the initial round of competitions.
School-Level Competition Heats Up
In the schools category, BSS Gurukulam Higher Secondary School from Alathur in Palakkad district established an early lead with 43 points. The school's strong performance across multiple events positioned them as the frontrunner.
Fathima Matha Girls Higher Secondary School from Koompanpara in Idukki district followed closely with 28 points, securing second position in the schools ranking.
Drug-Free Awareness Campaign Launched
Coinciding with the cultural festival, authorities launched a significant drug-free awareness campaign titled "Art is the Intoxication" across all Kalolsavam venues in Thrissur. The law and order committee organized this initiative to promote healthy alternatives to substance abuse.
Murali Perunelli inaugurated the campaign and simultaneously launched a 24×7 toll-free helpline (8086 100100) for emergency law and order assistance during the festival period. This proactive measure aims to ensure safety and security for all participants and visitors.
Second Day Events Schedule
The second day of Kalolsavam promises a rich array of cultural performances across 25 venues in Thrissur. Competitions will commence from 9.30am onwards, featuring diverse artistic expressions.

- Kathakali (both single and group performances)

- Drama competitions

Literary competitions will test students' skills in multiple languages, including:
