Kanpur Teenager Dies by Suicide After Scoring 92% in CBSE Class X Exams
A 16-year-old student in Kanpur, who recently scored an impressive 92% in her CBSE Class X examinations, allegedly died by suicide on Thursday evening. The tragic incident occurred in Ratanpur Shivalik Bhavan under the jurisdiction of the Panki police station. According to preliminary reports, the girl was not satisfied with her marks despite achieving a high percentage.
Family Background and Financial Struggles
The student had cleared her high school examination from Kendriya Vidyalaya in Armapur. Her father passed away several years ago, leaving the family in a precarious financial situation. She lived in a rented house with her mother and brother. Her brother had previously studied at the same Kendriya Vidyalaya but was forced to drop out after their father's death due to worsening finances. Since then, their mother has been the sole breadwinner, working at a clothing showroom to support the family.
Discovery of the Tragic Incident
Late on Thursday evening, the mother called her daughter but received no response. Growing concerned, she contacted her son and asked him to put his sister on the line. When the boy went to the room on the first floor, he found his sister hanging from a noose. The family immediately alerted the police, who arrived at the scene to begin their investigation.
Police Investigation and Voice Note Evidence
During the investigation, police recovered a voice note from the student's mobile phone that she had sent to friends. In the recording, she expressed deep distress and stated that she no longer wanted to live. Panki police station in-charge Manoj Singh Bhadauria confirmed that no written complaint has been filed by the family members yet. He added that further action will be taken based on the investigation, which will consider the voice recording and other evidence gathered.
