Kanpur: Chief Development Officer (CDO) Abhinav J Jain conducted a surprise inspection at Primary School Katri in Shankarpur on Tuesday. During the visit, he directly engaged with students from higher and upper primary classes to evaluate the quality of education being provided.
Interaction with Students and Assessment of Learning
The CDO interacted with students about the school environment and facilities. He assessed their learning by asking them to read from textbooks, solve problems on the blackboard, and demonstrate their linguistic and mathematical skills. He also reviewed student attendance registers, teachers' attendance records, and children's notebooks.
Inspection of Mid-Day Meal
Mr. Jain inspected the quality, hygiene, and nutritional standards of the mid-day meal. He dined with the students to get a firsthand experience of the meal provided.
Directives to Teachers and Officials
Teachers were instructed to regularly monitor the progress of every student and ensure timely checking of notebooks. The CDO directed officials and teachers to further improve sanitation in classrooms, school premises, and restrooms, emphasizing that children must have access to a clean and positive environment.
Appreciating activity-based learning and the use of Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs), the CDO asked teachers to effectively implement the objectives of the NIPUN Bharat Mission, which focuses on foundational literacy and numeracy.
This surprise inspection underscores the district administration's commitment to enhancing the quality of education and infrastructure in government schools.
