Kannur Maintains Slim Lead in Kerala School Arts Festival Standings

Kannur district continues to hold the top position in the overall standings as the Kerala State School Arts Festival enters its final day. With results from 233 out of 249 events already declared, Kannur has accumulated 955 points on the penultimate day of competition.

Close Competition Among Top Districts

The race for the overall championship remains incredibly tight. Thrissur district sits just five points behind Kannur with 950 points. Palakkad follows closely with 947 points, creating a three-way battle for supremacy.

Kozhikode occupies fourth position with 946 points, while Kollam rounds out the top five with 917 points. The narrow margins between the leading districts promise an exciting conclusion to the festival.

School Category Dominance

In the schools category, BSS Gurukulam Higher Secondary School from Alathur in Palakkad district continues its impressive performance. The institution has maintained its dominant position with 228 points in the overall schools tally.

Grand Finale Preparations

The festival will conclude with a grand valedictory ceremony scheduled for 4 PM at Thekkinkadu Maidan in Thrissur. Opposition leader V D Satheesan will inaugurate the closing ceremony, while Revenue Minister K Rajan will preside over the event.

Renowned actor Mohanlal will serve as the chief guest for the prestigious occasion. The celebrated actor will join General Education Minister V Sivankutty in presenting the coveted gold cup to the district that secures the overall championship title.

Thousands of students, teachers, and art enthusiasts are expected to gather for the finale, which will celebrate the artistic achievements of young talents from across Kerala. The festival has showcased exceptional performances in various art forms throughout its duration.
