A devastating incident unfolded in Noorpur village, Jalandhar, on Monday, where a Class 12 student died by suicide inside a government school. The tragedy occurred after she was allegedly falsely accused of theft by a teacher, leading to severe mental distress.

Sequence of Events Leading to the Tragedy

According to preliminary inquiries by Kartarpur DSP Narinder Singh, the student had visited the school to collect her roll number. During this time, a teacher discovered that some money was missing and accused the girl of stealing it. This accusation triggered immediate psychological turmoil for the student.

The girl became mentally stressed and used another teacher's phone to contact her family members. The concerned teacher also spoke with her father, clarifying that another student had actually taken the money and that the initial allegation was unfounded. However, this clarification came too late to prevent the ensuing crisis.

Locked Room and Fatal Outcome

Despite the teacher's retraction, the student locked herself in a room on the school premises. School staff observed this alarming behavior and promptly alerted her family while attempting to break open the door. By the time they gained entry, she had hanged herself. She was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead upon arrival.
