Gujarat Board Issues Final GujCET Answer Key with Revised Grace Marks
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has officially published the final answer key for the Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GujCET), incorporating significant revisions to the grace marks allocation following the discovery of an additional error in the Chemistry paper. This update aims to rectify discrepancies and uphold transparency in the evaluation process for engineering and pharmacy admissions.
Enhanced Grace Marks for All Mediums
Initially, the provisional answer key, released on April 4, highlighted errors in three questions for Gujarati and Hindi medium students and four questions for English medium students. After a thorough review of objections submitted by candidates during the window that closed on April 8, the board identified one more error in the Chemistry section. Consequently, the grace marks have been revised: Gujarati and Hindi medium candidates will now receive four grace marks, while English medium students will be awarded five grace marks. This adjustment ensures that no student is disadvantaged due to inaccuracies in the question papers.
Corrections for Multiple Correct Answers
In addition to the grace marks revision, the board clarified that for three specific questions, two answer options were deemed correct. Students who selected either of these valid options in those questions will be granted full marks, further promoting fairness in scoring. The GujCET examination, conducted on March 29, had previously announced grace marks for errors identified in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry papers, along with a specific issue in the Biology paper for English medium students.
Ensuring Fairness and Transparency
The identification of the additional Chemistry error prompted the board to update its grace marks policy, reflecting its commitment to maintaining integrity in the assessment. Subject experts meticulously reviewed all candidate representations before finalizing the answer key, underscoring the board's dedication to accuracy. With the final answer key now available, the GujCET results are anticipated to be declared shortly, providing clarity and closure for aspiring engineering and pharmacy students across Gujarat.
