The annual examinations in Dharwad district kicked off smoothly on Wednesday, with authorities reporting a seamless start across all 105 designated centres. Out of the total 28,120 candidates who registered for the exams, only 252 students were absent for the first-language paper. The breakdown of absences by area shows that Hubballi had the highest number with 123 absentees, followed by Dharwad with 65, Kalghatagi with 30, Kundgol with 18, and Navalgund with 16. This low absentee rate reflects strong preparation and commitment from the student community.
