Class 11 Student Dies by Suicide in Gurgaon

A tragic incident in Gurgaon has left a family and community in mourning after a 16-year-old school student died by suicide at his residence on Thursday evening.

Details of the Gurgaon Incident

The student, identified as Abhiraj Singh Ahlawat, was a Class 11 pupil. The only child of his parents, he lived with his family in Sector 51, Gurgaon. His father works as a science teacher in a government school in Nuh, while his mother is a homemaker.

According to police reports, the events unfolded when Abhiraj locked himself inside his room. His mother went to check on him and found the door bolted from the inside. After receiving no response to her calls, she immediately contacted her husband, who rushed home.

Police Response and Investigation

Unable to open the door, the family alerted the police. A call was made around 7 pm, prompting a team from the Sector 50 police station to reach the spot. The door was eventually opened, and Abhiraj was rushed to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Officers stated that no suicide note was recovered from the scene. They also did not find any material that could provide immediate insight into the circumstances leading to this extreme step. An officer involved said the police are speaking with the family "to understand if the boy faced academic or personal pressure."

Family's Statement and Ongoing Probe

In his statement to the police, Abhiraj's father said the family had no complaints and did not suspect anyone's involvement in the incident. He also mentioned that his son had not expressed any visible distress or indicated problems in the days leading up to the tragedy.

The police investigation continues as they seek to piece together the factors behind this young student's death. The case highlights the pressing need for attention to mental health and stress among teenagers in India, particularly concerning academic pressures.
