Bihar Student Tops Class 10 Exam with 98.4% Using YouTube Lectures

Shabreen Parveen has emerged as one of the joint toppers of the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) Class 10 examination for the year 2026, achieving an outstanding score of 492 out of 500 marks, which translates to 98.4%. She shares the prestigious Rank 1 position with Pushpanjali Kumari, as both students secured the highest marks in this year's results declared by the board.

Innovative Preparation Strategy Without Offline Coaching

The daughter of a tyre shop owner, Shabreen adopted a unique and resourceful approach to her studies. She did not enroll in any offline coaching classes, instead relying on a combination of regular school attendance and online resources, particularly YouTube lectures. In an interview with ANI, she explained her method: "I studied Urdu, Maths and English from YouTube, while I studied Hindi, Science and Social Science at school."

Shabreen cited time constraints as the primary reason for avoiding offline coaching, stating, "I did not take offline coaching due to lack of time, so I resorted to YouTube lectures." Her preparation was further supported by her family, with her brother, who teaches at an academy, providing additional guidance. "My brother helped me as well," she added, highlighting the collaborative effort at home.

Aspirations to Pursue Medicine and NEET Preparation

Following the announcement of her Matric results, Shabreen has set her sights on a career in medicine. She expressed her ambition clearly: "I want to be a doctor, and I will prepare for NEET." Her next academic steps will involve selecting the appropriate stream in higher secondary education and beginning focused preparation aligned with the NEET syllabus, aiming to secure a place in a medical college.

BSEB Matric Results 2026: Key Statistics and Rewards

The BSEB Class 10 (Matric) Result 2026 was officially declared on March 29, 2026, recording an overall pass percentage of 81.79%. Out of 15,10,928 students who appeared for the examinations, 12,35,743 passed successfully. Among the successful candidates, 6,34,353 were girls and 6,01,390 were boys, marking the second consecutive year that girls have outperformed boys in the board exams.

In recognition of top performers, the board has announced substantial cash rewards. First rank holders, including Shabreen Parveen and Pushpanjali Kumari, will receive Rs. 2 lakh each. Second rank holders are set to get Rs. 1.5 lakh, and third rank holders will be awarded Rs. 1 lakh. This initiative underscores the board's commitment to encouraging academic excellence among students.

With the results now available, students across Bihar can review their performance and plan their future academic endeavors accordingly, whether in science, commerce, or arts streams.
