Bihar to Inspect All Aided Madrassas and Sanskrit Schools in 10 Days
Bihar to Inspect All Aided Madrassas and Sanskrit Schools

The Bihar education department has initiated a comprehensive inspection of all non-government recognized aided Madrassas and Sanskrit schools across the state. District magistrates of all 38 districts have been directed to submit detailed inspection reports within a 10-day timeframe.

Purpose of the Inspection

According to secondary education director Sajjan Rajasekar, Bihar has 1,942 aided Madrassas and over 600 Sanskrit schools. Teachers and staff in these institutions receive salary grants from the state government, which makes it the government's responsibility to ensure regular attendance and quality education for students.

Inspection Committees

A three-member committee will be formed at the block level, headed by the block development officer (BDO) or, in their absence, the circle officer (CO). The BDO will serve as secretary, and a senior headmaster from a government secondary or higher secondary school in the area will be nominated as a member. District magistrates are responsible for constituting these committees and nominating members.

On-Site Verification

Committee members must personally visit every Madrassa and Sanskrit school for on-site verification. During inspections, they will examine:

  • Appointment records and attendance of teachers and staff
  • Student enrollment and classroom activities
  • Overall academic and administrative functioning
  • Condition of school buildings, campus facilities, and infrastructure

Transparency Measures

To ensure transparency, committee members will capture photographs of campuses, classrooms, educational activities, and staff present during visits. The inspection reports, along with photographic evidence, must be submitted to the education department within the stipulated 10-day period. The findings will guide further actions to improve educational standards in these institutions.
