In a significant achievement for the prestigious institution, as many as 33 alumni of Allahabad University (AU) have been selected in the Provincial Civil Service (PCS) 2024 for key administrative posts. This news has brought immense cheer across the campus and hostels that once shaped their academic journeys, highlighting the university's role in nurturing future leaders.

Diverse Administrative Positions Secured by AU Graduates

The selected candidates have secured a wide range of important positions, including deputy collector, commercial tax commissioner, naib tehsildar, block development officer, deputy jailer, and district panchayati raj officer, among others. This diverse selection underscores the comprehensive preparation and dedication of the university's students.

Top Performers and Their Notable Achievements

Among the top performers, Ayush Pandey of the 2024-25 LLB batch secured an impressive 10th rank for the post of deputy collector. From the economics department, Abhishek Kumar Singh clinched the second rank for the post of commercial tax officer (CTO), while Chandra Prakash secured the 74th rank and was selected for naib tehsildar. Anushka Yadav, who pursued an MSc in zoology, secured the 85th rank in CTO, demonstrating excellence across disciplines.

Further successes include BSc student Rahul Yadav, who obtained the 98th rank, and Rajat Kanaujiya, who secured the 131st rank for assistant commissioner (commercial tax). These achievements reflect the strong academic foundation provided by Allahabad University.

Prominent Hostel Residents Among the Selectees

Residents and former inmates of prominent university hostels also figured prominently in the selection list. Vikas Mishra, who stayed at AN Jha Hostel, and Vikas from the philosophy department were both selected as assistant commissioners (commercial tax). Geography student Alok Nishad, along with Abhinesh Kumar, Chandan Pal, and philosophy research scholar Shubham Pratap Singh, successfully cracked the coveted exam.

From KPUC Hostel, Purushottam Ojha was selected, while Mithilesh Yadav from PCB Hostel and Naveen Chandan were chosen for naib tehsildar positions. Several other AN Jha Hostel inmates, including Ashutosh Tiwari, Pranav Pandey, Kulbhushan Tiwari, and Holland Hall resident Krishnam, along with Parawat Singh, were also selected as naib tehsildars. Anshu from SSL Hostel earned selection for the same post, showcasing the hostel community's collective success.

Additional Notable Selections and Achievements

Among other notable selections, Vipin Dev Yadav, a 2017 BSc graduate and resident of Ambedkar locality, was appointed as a work officer, while his classmate Harsh Kumar Diwakar became a naib tehsildar. Shivam Srivastava, a former resident of Hindu Hostel from the 2011 batch, also secured the naib tehsildar post, highlighting the enduring legacy of AU alumni.

The university's achievers further include Anamika Singh from the geography department and Abhinandan Singh from political science, who secured the 24th rank and became a block development officer. Avani Kumar from SSL Hostel achieved the 71st rank for the same post. Kumari Diksha Gautam secured the 21st rank to become a sub-registrar, while Shivam Mitra (11th rank) and Pushpraj Mishra were selected as deputy jailers.

Adding to the pride of the institution, Aakriti Shukla was selected as a deputy SP and Ashwini Kumar Soni as a district panchayati raj officer.
