Youth Power Key to India's 2047 Developed Nation Goal, Say Dignitaries at University Convocation

The dream of India transforming into a self-reliant and fully developed nation can be realized sooner than anticipated, thanks to the pivotal contributions of the country's dynamic youth. This optimistic vision was prominently highlighted by distinguished dignitaries during the 6th convocation ceremony of G H Raisoni University in Amravati, which took place on Thursday.

Ceremony Leadership and Distinguished Guests

The prestigious event was presided over by Shreyash Raisoni, the Executive Director of Raisoni Education. The ceremony welcomed Bhimaraya Metri, Director of IIM-Nagpur, as the chief guest, and Atul Vaidya, Vice-Chancellor of LITU, as the guest of honor. Other notable attendees included G H Raisoni University Vice-Chancellor Vinayak Deshpande, Registrar Snehil Jaiswal, and Controller of Examinations Vinayak Dakare.

Vision for a Developed India by 2047

In his address to the gathering, Chief Guest Bhimaraya Metri underscored the central government's ambitious target of establishing India as a developed and self-reliant nation by the year 2047. "Given the significant contribution of Indian youth to national development, there is strong hope that this vision will be achieved ahead of schedule," Metri stated. He further elaborated, "It is the exceptional capability and drive of the youth that has already propelled India to become the world's fourth-largest economy, setting a solid foundation for future growth."

Emphasis on Skill Development and National Contribution

Guest of Honor Atul Vaidya emphasized the critical importance of skill development for the younger generation. He urged students to focus on enhancing their practical abilities and competencies, which are essential for both personal success and national progress. Vaidya also highlighted the inspiring contributions of great personalities who have dedicated their lives to the nation, serving as role models for the youth.

Shreyash Raisoni extended his heartfelt best wishes to all the graduating students, encouraging them to pursue their careers with dedication and integrity. Vice-Chancellor Vinayak Deshpande shared valuable insights into the university's remarkable growth trajectory and outlined ambitious future plans aimed at further enhancing educational excellence and infrastructure.

The convocation ceremony was a momentous occasion to honor academic achievements. A total of 58 meritorious students were recognized for their outstanding performance in various examinations, receiving:

Comprehensive Degree Conferrals

Degrees were conferred on an impressive total of 1,522 students, reflecting the university's diverse academic offerings. The breakdown of degrees awarded includes:

  2. 773 undergraduate degrees
  3. 671 postgraduate degrees
  4. 42 PhDs

Among the graduates, the distribution across various programs was as follows:

  • 321 from engineering programmes
  • 216 from commerce and management
  • 98 from law
  • 90 from pharmacy (including undergraduate and diploma)
  • 13 from hotel management (with 4 diplomas)
  • 748 students from the School of Science

The ceremony concluded with Registrar Snehil Jaiswal proposing a formal vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and dignitaries for making the event a resounding success.
