Uttar Pradesh's 'Pragati' Festival Empowers Youth on International Women's Day
Innovation, scientific thinking, and leadership development took center stage in Lucknow as a state-level children's festival, titled 'Pragati – From Self-Respect to Equality and International Women's Day,' was organized on Sunday to commemorate International Women's Day. The event, held at Dayal Gateway, saw enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and parents from across Uttar Pradesh, creating a vibrant atmosphere of learning and empowerment.
Thematic Stalls Drive Interactive Learning
A total of 22 thematic stalls were set up at the venue, emerging as the major attraction of the festival. These stalls presented interactive and activity-based learning modules that focused on critical themes such as gender equality, scientific outlook, social-emotional learning, parental engagement, and career guidance. Each stall was designed to engage young minds through hands-on experiences, fostering a deeper understanding of these important societal issues.
Innovative Teaching Tools and Puppet Shows
The exhibition featured a Teacher Teaching-Learning Material (TLM) section and a puppet section, where educators displayed innovative learning tools and creative puppet shows. These presentations highlighted themes including women's empowerment, gender equality, child rights, and life skills. Teachers from districts such as Kannauj, Shamli, Sitapur, Ayodhya, Rae Bareli, Barabanki, Lakhimpur, Lucknow, Meerut, and Amethi showcased models that promoted the concept of "learning by doing," emphasizing practical education over theoretical approaches.
Focus on Social-Emotional Learning and Leadership
Beyond academic skills, the festival placed a strong emphasis on social-emotional learning and leadership development. Interactive forums, a career guidance center, leadership activities, and a Children's Parliament were integral parts of the event, encouraging parental participation and providing career counseling. These components aimed to build well-rounded individuals capable of contributing positively to society.
