UP Skill Mission Hosts Major State Competition to Identify Top Technical Talent
The Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission launched a significant two-day state-level skill competition on Monday. This event aims to uncover the finest technical talent from across the state. Approximately 400 candidates participated, demonstrating their abilities in seven critical skill areas.
Diverse Skill Sets on Display
Participants showcased their proficiency in a range of modern and traditional technical fields. The competition included auto-body repair, cloud computing, and automobile technology. It also featured web technologies, software application development, cyber security, and ICT network infrastructure.
Each phase of the competition involves a thorough evaluation process. Judges impartially assess skill proficiency, innovation, creative thinking, and performance ability. The goal is to select the very best talents from Uttar Pradesh.
Pathway to National and International Recognition
Selected winners will gain valuable opportunities. They will advance to participate at the national level. Furthermore, they will earn the chance to compete in the prestigious World Skill Competition. This international event is scheduled for September in Shanghai, China.
Pulkit Khare, Director of the UP Skill Development Mission, provided details about the event's first day. He noted that participants attended essential orientation sessions. These sessions took place across eight workshops organized at key technical institutes in Lucknow.
Comprehensive Orientation and Training
The venues included Government ITI Aliganj, ITOT Aliganj, Government Women's ITI (World Bank) Aliganj, and Government ITI Charbagh. During these orientation sessions, subject experts delivered crucial information to competitors.
Experts covered technical training specifics, the competition format, and detailed evaluation criteria. They also provided updates on the latest technical advancements relevant to each skill area.
Building on Previous Success
This event represents the second phase of the competition. The first phase concluded successfully on January 13. That initial round saw enthusiastic participation from 451 youths representing all 18 divisions of Uttar Pradesh.
In the first phase, competitions focused on six major skill sets. These included electronics, fashion technology, CNC turning, welding, CNC milling, and additive manufacturing. The events were hosted in 16 modern workshops across nine prominent institutions.
Director Khare reflected positively on the earlier phase. He stated that participants clearly demonstrated their technical expertise, innovation, and practical understanding. Their performance adhered to World Skills standards. Khare emphasized that the enthusiasm and confidence displayed by the youth were particularly noteworthy.
The mission continues to foster a competitive environment that highlights the technical capabilities of Uttar Pradesh's young population. This initiative not only recognizes talent but also prepares individuals for significant national and global platforms.
