Rajasthan Chief Minister Inaugurates National Summit on Institutional Leadership in Jaipur

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma inaugurated a significant two-day national summit on Institutional Leadership in Jaipur on Monday. The summit, a collaborative effort, was organized by the Department of College Education, University of Rajasthan, and Vidya Bharati Uchcha Shiksha Sansthan (VBUSS), which serves as the higher education wing of the RSS.

Focus on National Education Policy and Indian Knowledge System

Sessions at the summit were dedicated to incorporating the provisions of the National Education Policy into curricula, with a strong emphasis on the Indian knowledge system. This focus aims to blend traditional wisdom with contemporary educational practices to enhance learning outcomes.

Chief Minister's Vision for Modern Education

Inaugurating the summit, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma highlighted the importance of promoting innovation, technology, and the Indian knowledge tradition within the modern education system. He asserted that this integrated approach would not only provide employment opportunities to the youth but also help in building their character.

"Our government is committed to improving the quality of higher education and making the youth more employable. We need education that is a beautiful blend of tradition and modernity," Sharma stated. "The theme of this summit, ‘Dialogue on Inter-Institutional Development,' is extremely relevant. Working together with IITs, central universities, state universities, research institutes, and private educational institutions can bring about real change on the ground."

The Chief Minister further elaborated on the state government's efforts to strengthen digital infrastructure in higher education and promote research and innovation. He proudly noted that during the current government's tenure, 351 exams have been conducted without a single paper leak, underscoring their commitment to integrity in education.

Deputy Chief Minister's Emphasis on Collaboration

Addressing the summit, Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa outlined the objective of the gathering: to accelerate the goal of a developed India 2047 through institutional collaboration, leadership development, and policy formulation. He drew parallels to India's historical educational excellence.

"Students from across the world flocked to universities like Takshashila and Nalanda to pursue education. Gurukuls focused on the practical and holistic development of students. In this era of globalisation, the Indian knowledge tradition remains as relevant as ever," Bairwa remarked.

University Vice-Chancellor's Call for Holistic Education

University of Rajasthan's Vice-Chancellor, Alpana Kateja, emphasized the evolving role of universities in today's fast-paced world of information and technology. She stressed that universities must transcend mere knowledge impartation to nurture aware, sensitive, and responsible citizens.

"In today's rapidly evolving era of information and technology, universities must go beyond imparting knowledge to nurturing aware, sensitive, and responsible citizens capable of contributing meaningfully to society and the nation," Kateja said.

This summit marks a pivotal step towards redefining educational frameworks in India, fostering a synergy between traditional values and modern advancements to prepare the youth for future challenges.
