Magadh University has secured approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to offer a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme starting from the academic session 2026-27. The course will be conducted at the Aryabhatta block on the Bodh Gaya campus, with an intake capacity of 60 seats.
Vice-Chancellor's Statement
Vice-Chancellor Shashi Pratap Shahi stated, "The introduction of the MCA programme will open up better academic and professional opportunities for students, including improved placement prospects with reputed companies." He emphasized that this development aligns with the university's commitment to enhancing technical education.
Director's Insights
Sanjay Kumar Tiwari, Director of Computer Science and Information Technology, revealed that the university administration had been working diligently to secure this approval for a long time. "Classes for the new session will commence from the current academic year. Admission to the MCA course will be conducted through an entrance test," Tiwari added.
Existing MCA Courses
Currently, colleges under Magadh University, including Gaya College in Gaya and Sachidanand Sinha College in Aurangabad, offer MCA courses with intake capacities of 54 and 60 seats respectively. The new programme at the main campus will further expand access to technical education.
