IIT Delhi, NIT Trichy Sign MoU for Joint Research

Trichy: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Trichy have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to facilitate joint research, student exchange, and academic mobility between the two institutions.

Key Details of the MoU

The agreement was signed by Rangan Banerjee, director of IIT Delhi, and G Aghila, director of NIT Trichy. It seeks to establish a framework for collaborative academic and research activities. Under this MoU, eligible students will have opportunities for early admission to MTech, MS (research), and PhD programmes at IIT Delhi without the requirement of a GATE qualification, subject to meeting prescribed academic criteria.

Collaborative Activities

The collaboration will facilitate joint research projects, co-supervision of postgraduate and doctoral scholars, faculty exchange programmes, credit transfer mechanisms, and sharing of academic resources between the institutions. Speaking on the occasion, Aghila said the partnership would provide enhanced academic and research opportunities for students and faculty while fostering innovation and excellence.

Duration of the Agreement

The MoU will remain in force for five years. This partnership is expected to strengthen the academic ties between the two premier institutes and contribute to the advancement of education and research in India.
