Ahmedabad: The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has officially commenced its pioneering blended Post Graduate Program in Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (BPGP-BA&AI) with a cohort of 71 accomplished professionals. The program launched on Thursday, marking a significant step in executive education focused on emerging technologies.
Diverse Professional Backgrounds and Demographics
The inaugural batch brings together mid-career experts with an impressive average work experience of seven years. According to IIM-A officials, the cohort comprises 77% male participants, reflecting current industry demographics while showcasing the institute's commitment to expanding access to advanced technical education.
These students represent a wide spectrum of professional sectors, including:
- Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI)
- Information Technology and software development
- Management consulting and advisory services
- Retail and e-commerce operations
- Biotechnology and healthcare industries

IIT Gandhinagar Announces Industry Partnership Initiative
In a parallel development within Gujarat's educational landscape, the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT-Gn) is preparing to pre-launch three interdisciplinary research clusters during its Industry Partnership Conclave scheduled for April 18.
Research Clusters for Innovation
The three specialized clusters that will form the cornerstone of this initiative include:
- Advanced Materials: Focusing on next-generation material science applications
- Energy: Addressing sustainable energy solutions and technologies
- Healthcare and MedTech: Developing innovative medical technologies and healthcare solutions

An IIT-Gn official explained that this initiative aims to fundamentally transform the relationship between academic institutions and industry partners. Rather than maintaining traditional transactional or project-based engagements, the program seeks to establish sustained, co-creative partnerships that foster continuous innovation.
By creating a specialized ecosystem that brings together diverse stakeholders, the institute intends to accelerate the translation of laboratory discoveries into commercially viable, market-ready solutions.
