IGNOU Launches Registration for June 2026 Term-End Examinations
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has officially commenced the registration process for its upcoming June Term-End Examination (TEE) scheduled for 2026. All eligible students enrolled in the university's diverse programs can now proceed to submit their examination forms online through the official portal, ignou.samarth.edu.in.
Important Registration Deadlines and Late Fees
According to the detailed schedule released by IGNOU, the final date for submitting the TEE June 2026 exam form without incurring any late fee is April 10, 2026. Candidates who are unable to meet this initial deadline will still have an opportunity to apply, but they must do so with a late fee. This extended window for registration with a late fee will remain open until April 24, 2026.
Examination Schedule and Conduct Mode
The IGNOU term-end examinations for the June 2026 session are tentatively planned to be conducted over a period from June 1 to July 15, 2026. This schedule applies to students enrolled in both Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programs as well as online courses offered by the university.
The examinations will be held in two distinct shifts each day to accommodate a large number of candidates:
- Morning Shift: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
- Evening Shift: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
IGNOU will administer the exams using a combination of traditional pen-and-paper mode and modern computer-based test (CBT) mode. The specific mode of examination will depend entirely on the requirements and nature of each individual course.
Examination Fee Structure and Late Charges
Students are required to pay the prescribed examination fee at the time of submitting their online forms. The fee structure is as follows:
- Theory Exam Fee: Rs 200 per course
- Practical Exam Fee: Rs 300 for courses with up to 4 credits; Rs 500 for courses exceeding 4 credits
Candidates who submit their applications after the April 10, 2026 deadline will be obligated to pay an additional late fee of Rs 1,100 along with the standard examination fee.
Mandatory Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) ID Requirement
A crucial requirement for all students registering for the IGNOU June TEE 2026 is the creation of an Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) ID during the examination form filling process. The university has issued a clear directive stating that if candidates fail to create this ABC ID, their marks and grades will not be accurately reflected in the Academic Bank of Credits and DigiLocker systems. This omission could potentially lead to significant delays in the declaration and availability of their final results.
Important Clarification on Practical Examinations
IGNOU has provided a vital clarification regarding practical courses. The university explicitly states that improvement is not permitted in practical subjects. If a student who has already successfully passed a practical course applies to appear for it again, the previously awarded marks will remain unchanged. Furthermore, in such cases, the examination fee paid will neither be refunded nor adjusted for any other purpose.
All students are strongly advised to meticulously verify their course details and ensure they complete the entire registration process well before the specified deadlines to avoid unnecessary late fees and potential complications.
