Goa Directorate of Higher Education Launches Online Admissions for 34 Colleges
The Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) in Goa has announced the commencement of admissions for first-year courses across 34 colleges, starting from Monday. This follows the declaration of Class XII results on Saturday, marking a critical phase for students transitioning to higher education.
Centralised Digital Platform for Streamlined Process
Officials have confirmed that the entire admission process will be conducted online through a centralised digital platform. The admission portal will be operational from March 23 at 12 noon until April 6 at midnight for the first round of applications. This move aims to simplify and expedite the admission procedure for thousands of students.
Key Details and Guidelines for Applicants
Prospective students can access detailed information on courses, eligibility criteria, intake capacity, and admission guidelines via the e-prospectus available on respective college websites. According to official Mahadev Gawas, "Students will be allowed to select up to five preferences, choosing different programmes across colleges based on their eligibility."
Notably, students whose Class XII results are still pending can also apply. They have the option to submit their results at a later stage, ensuring no one is excluded due to delayed result declarations.
Programmes with Deferred Admissions
Admissions to certain programmes have been temporarily deferred. These include:
- B.A. B.Ed.
- B.Sc. B.Ed.
- B.A. LL.B.
Admissions for these courses will commence after the declaration of NCTE-related eligibility clearances and Goa University CLAT-related results, as per official statements.
The initiative underscores Goa's commitment to enhancing accessibility and efficiency in higher education, leveraging technology to cater to a diverse student population.
