Thiruvananthapuram witnessed a somber moment on Tuesday as noted educationist A P Majeed Khan passed away. He was 91 years old. Khan founded the NIMS group of institutions and served as chairman of NIMS Medicity, a hospital in Neyyattinkara.

Majeed Khan played a key role in placing Neyyattinkara firmly on Kerala's educational map. He earned respect across the region for his visionary work. His efforts transformed local education and healthcare infrastructure.

Final Rites and Public Homage

Family sources confirmed the details of his final journey. Khan's mortal remains were kept for public homage at his residence in Neyyattinkara. On Wednesday morning, the body will travel to Thuckalay University for public viewing.

After that, it will return to his residence. The public can pay their last respects there between 12 noon and 3pm. The funeral is scheduled for Wednesday evening.

He is survived by his son, Faisal Khan, who serves as the Managing Director of NIMS. The family mourns the loss of a patriarch who built an enduring legacy.
