Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary made a significant announcement on Friday. He declared that Bihar will establish degree colleges in every block across the state. This move aims to provide higher education facilities closer to home. The primary goal is to ensure girls do not have to travel long distances for their studies.
Strengthening the Education System
Choudhary emphasized ongoing efforts to strengthen Bihar's education system and infrastructure. He revealed that approximately 500 PM Shri schools are currently opening in the state. These schools will feature modern laboratories, smart classrooms, and improved educational facilities.
The government is investing around Rs 1.14 crore in this initiative. Choudhary firmly stated that Bihar's progress depends heavily on educating its girls. He made these remarks during the first day of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's 'Samriddhi Yatra'. The yatra commenced from Bettiah in West Champaran district.
Infrastructure and Development Highlights
The Deputy CM highlighted various development works completed under the NDA rule led by Nitish Kumar. He recalled that traveling from Patna to Bettiah was quite difficult before 2005. Now, a four-lane Patna-Bettiah road exists. Furthermore, an expressway is under construction to make travel even more convenient.
Choudhary also mentioned a major cultural project. A Lord Luv-Kush memorial has been built at Valmikinagar near Bettiah. The construction cost approximately Rs 60 crore. This project aims to enhance the religious and cultural significance of the area.
Bihar's Industrial and Employment Vision
Samrat Choudhary outlined the government's broader vision for Bihar. He stated that the state is being developed into a strong industrial hub. The government has set a clear target for the next five years.
Every young person in Bihar should have employment opportunities within the state itself. This focus on local job creation complements the educational expansion plans. Together, they form a comprehensive strategy for Bihar's growth and development.
