New Delhi: Dr BR Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) is set to roll out a major academic expansion in the 2026-27 session, introducing new courses across undergraduate and postgraduate levels in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Postgraduate Programmes
The university will introduce one-year postgraduate programmes in core humanities and social sciences, open to graduates of four-year BA programmes through CUET-PG. Disciplines on offer include Psychology, English, Hindi, Economics, Sociology, History, and Political Science. Additionally, new MA programmes in Creative Writing and Performing Arts (Theatre Arts) will be launched.
Undergraduate Programmes
At the undergraduate level, AUD is introducing BA programmes in Museology, Culture and Heritage Management, and Visual Arts, signalling a shift towards interdisciplinary and practice-oriented education. The Museology programme is among the first of its kind to be offered at the university level in India. The existing mathematics programme has been restructured to include a minor in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, integrating emerging technological skills into the curriculum.
Admissions and Seats
For the 2026-27 academic session, the university will offer more than 3,000 seats across 78 undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes. Admissions will be conducted through CUET-UG, CUET-PG, and NCET, with applications routed through the university's admission portal. The postgraduate portal is expected to open shortly, while undergraduate admissions will begin after the declaration of CUET-UG results. Candidates can apply to multiple programmes through a single registration fee, with fee relaxations for reserved categories.
Academic Framework and Initiatives
The academic framework emphasises interdisciplinary learning, flexible curricular pathways, and continuous evaluation. Academic engagement is further strengthened through specialised schools, including the School of Heritage Research and Management, which facilitates fieldwork and collaborations with organisations such as the Archaeological Survey of India. The university is also incorporating Bharatiya Knowledge Systems into its curricula and examining the interface between Artificial Intelligence and the social sciences and humanities through dedicated academic initiatives and committees.
About AUD
Established in 2008, AUD currently has more than 6,250 students across its campuses at Kashmere Gate, Karampura, Qutub Institutional Area, and Lodhi Road. Future plans include the development of new campuses at Dheerpur and Rohini.
