Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh IT and education minister Nara Lokesh on Friday said 37 government school teachers will travel to Singapore for an international exposure programme, calling it a step towards bringing global best practices into classrooms.

In a post on X, Lokesh said the initiative aims to equip teachers with modern teaching methods and help students stay competitive in a rapidly changing world. "Our teachers will learn from global education systems and bring back best practices to benefit students," he said.

The teachers will undergo a five-day training at the National Institute of Education, Singapore, starting from May 4 to May 8, according to official orders.

A total of 42 participants, including senior officials and state award-winning teachers, have been permitted for the programme. They have been asked to report at Vijayawada airport on May 2 and will return on May 9. The period will be treated as on duty.

Officials said similar international exposure programmes, including visits to Finland, are being planned as part of broader efforts to strengthen the school education system.
