UPSC to Fill 77 Vacancies: National Recruitment Test This Sunday
UPSC Exam for 77 Posts on Sunday in 15 Cities

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is set to hold a major combined recruitment examination this Sunday. The test aims to fill a total of 77 vacancies spread across five different government posts. Aspirants from across the nation will converge at designated centres to compete for these coveted positions.

Exam Details and Nationwide Centres

The pen-and-paper based examination will be conducted in an offline mode on Sunday. The test timing is fixed from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Candidates will need to be present at one of the 15 exam cities selected by the commission.

The examination will be held in the following cities: Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Dispur (Guwahati), Jaipur, Jammu, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Port Blair, Ranchi, and Visakhapatnam. This wide distribution ensures accessibility for candidates from various regions.

Exam Pattern, Syllabus, and Selection Process

The recruitment test will carry a total of 300 marks. The question paper will consist of objective-type questions, with equal marks allotted to each question. A crucial point for candidates to note is that the exam will include negative marking. For every incorrect answer, one-third (1/3) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted. The examination will be conducted only in the English language.

The syllabus for the test is comprehensive, covering approximately 12 key topics. Important areas include:

  • The Constitution of India
  • The Companies Act
  • The Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA)
  • The Prevention of Corruption Act

Eligibility and Interview Shortlisting

Performance in this written exam will be the first hurdle. Candidates who clear the test will be shortlisted for the next stage: a personal interview. The UPSC has already finalised the minimum qualifying marks required for different categories to be eligible for the interview call.

The category-wise cut-off marks for interview selection are as follows:

  • General and EWS candidates: Must score above 50 marks.
  • OBC candidates: Must score above 45 marks.
  • SC/ST and other reserved category candidates: Must score above 40 marks.

This structured recruitment drive by UPSC offers a significant opportunity for job seekers aiming for a career in central government services. Candidates are advised to reach their exam centres well in time, carrying all necessary documents as per the official admit card instructions.
