The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially unveiled its highly anticipated examination calendar for the upcoming 2026-27 recruitment cycle. This roadmap provides aspirants across India with a tentative but crucial timeline for the year's major government job examinations.

Key Highlights of the SSC 2026-27 Recruitment Schedule

According to the official notification, the recruitment drive is set to kick off in March 2026 and will extend into the early months of 2027. The calendar outlines the expected months for the release of notifications, the opening and closing of application windows, and the tentative examination periods for all major SSC tests.

Candidates can access and download the complete schedule from the Commission's official website, ssc.gov.in. This early release is designed to help lakhs of aspirants plan their preparation strategically for the entire year.

Major Exam Windows for 2026

The schedule reveals a packed year for SSC recruitments. The first set of departmental exams for JSA/LDC, SSA/UDC, and ASO grades are tentatively slated for May 2026.

Two of the most sought-after exams, the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) and the Junior Engineer (JE) examinations, are scheduled for the May-June 2026 window. The Selection Post (Phase-XIV) exam is planned to span a longer period from May to July 2026.

For 10+2 level candidates, the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) exam is expected to be conducted between July and September 2026. This will be followed closely by the Stenographer Grade 'C' & 'D' and the Combined Hindi Translators exams in August-September 2026.

Exams in Late 2026 and Early 2027

The latter part of 2026 will see the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) & Havaldar exam in September-November 2026. Recruitment for the post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces is planned for October-November 2026.

The cycle will conclude with the Constable (GD) examination for various central forces, which is tentatively scheduled for January-March 2027, marking the end of the 2026-27 recruitment period.

Prospective applicants are advised to treat these dates as provisional. The SSC emphasizes that the final dates for notifications and examinations will be confirmed through individual detailed advertisements released closer to each exam.
