Lucknow Schools Face Rs 5 Lakh Penalty Over Fee Violations

Eight schools in Lucknow district have come under scrutiny after the district fee regulatory committee, chaired by District Magistrate Vishakh G., found complaints of fee irregularities to be valid. The committee reviewed a total of 28 complaints against 20 schools, and after a detailed investigation, eight complaints were confirmed as correct.

Notices Issued to Schools

The administration has issued show-cause notices to the eight schools, asking why a penalty of Rs 5 lakh should not be imposed for violating the Uttar Pradesh Self-Financed Schools Fee Regulation Act, 2018, and its 2020 amendment. The schools have been directed to submit their responses by June 1.

Strict Action Warned

District Inspector of Schools, Rakesh Kumar Pandey, stated, “Fee rules are clear, schools must follow them. Any deviation will invite action. We are reviewing records and responses.” The committee is expected to take further action based on the schools' explanations.
