DU UG Admission 2026 Expected to Begin This Week
Delhi University (DU) is set to commence the undergraduate (UG) admission process for the academic session 2026 this week, as per official sources. The application portal will be activated on the official website ugadmission.uod.ac.in for candidates seeking admission to various UG programmes offered by the university. The announcement comes after the release of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2025 results by the National Testing Agency (NTA) earlier this month.
Key Details and Application Steps
Candidates can apply online through the DU admission portal. The application process includes registration, filling in personal and academic details, uploading documents, and payment of the application fee. The university is expected to release the detailed admission schedule, including the last date to apply and the date for the first merit list. For the 2025-26 session, DU had received over 2.5 lakh applications, and a similar number is anticipated this year.
According to a DU official, "The admission process will be conducted in multiple phases, including the release of merit lists based on CUET scores. Candidates are advised to visit the official website regularly for updates." The university offers over 70 UG courses across its various colleges.
Eligibility Criteria and Important Dates
Eligibility criteria vary by programme. Generally, candidates must have passed Class 12 from a recognized board with the required percentage and subjects. For courses like B.Tech, B.Com, and BA (Hons), specific subject combinations are mandatory. The admission will be based on CUET UG 2025 scores, which were released on June 20, 2025.
The university is likely to release the first merit list in July 2025. Candidates who secure a seat must complete the admission formalities within the stipulated time. DU has also introduced a common application form for all colleges under the university, simplifying the process.
