SSC GD 2025 Registration Ends Tomorrow for 25K Posts

The final opportunity to apply for one of India's largest central government security force recruitments is about to end. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will close the online registration window for the Constable (General Duty) recruitment 2025 tomorrow, December 31, 2025, at 11:00 PM. Aspiring candidates aiming for a career in the Central Armed Police Forces must complete their application process on the official SSC website without any further delay.

Critical Dates and Application Process

According to the official notification released on December 1, the application process commenced on the same day. The timeline for the entire recruitment drive is tightly scheduled. While the form submission ends on December 31, the last date for online fee payment is January 1, 2026. The Commission will provide a brief correction window for applicants to rectify any errors in their forms from January 8 to January 10, 2026. No modifications will be permitted after this period.

The Computer Based Examination (CBE) for the SSC GD Constable post is tentatively planned to be held between February and April 2026. Candidates must apply exclusively through the Commission's new website, ssc.gov.in. It is crucial to note that the older One-Time Registration (OTR) from the previous portal is not valid for this application. Applicants need to upload a live photograph, a scanned signature, and ensure successful fee payment before final submission.

Vacancy Breakdown and Eligibility Criteria

This massive recruitment drive aims to fill 25,487 vacancies across seven prestigious forces. These include the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Assam Rifles, and the Secretariat Security Force (SSF).

A gender-wise distribution reveals that 23,467 posts are earmarked for male candidates and 2,020 for female candidates. Among the forces, CISF has the highest number of openings, followed by CRPF and Assam Rifles. The Commission has stated that these numbers are provisional and subject to change. A significant 10% of the total posts are reserved for Ex-servicemen. Recruitment for most forces will follow state and union territory-wise allocation, except for the SSF, which follows an all-India process.

To be eligible, candidates must be Indian citizens. The essential educational qualification is a pass in Class 10 or Matriculation from a recognized board as of January 1, 2026. The age limit is strictly between 18 and 23 years, meaning candidates must have been born between January 2, 2003, and January 1, 2008. Age relaxation for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, and other reserved categories will be applicable as per the prevailing government norms.

Selection Stages, Exam Pattern, and Pay Scale

The selection of candidates will be a rigorous, multi-stage process comprising five distinct levels. These are the Computer Based Examination (CBE), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST), Detailed Medical Examination (DME), and finally, Document Verification.

The CBE will be an objective-type test containing 80 questions, each carrying two marks. Candidates must be cautious as there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. In a candidate-friendly move, the examination will be conducted in English, Hindi, and 13 other regional languages.

Successfully selected candidates will be appointed at Pay Level 3 in the 7th Central Pay Commission matrix. This translates to a monthly salary in the range of ₹21,700 to ₹69,100, along with other allowances and benefits as admissible to central government personnel.

With the deadline looming large, prospective applicants are strongly advised to act immediately and complete their registration. The SSC has explicitly warned that late applications will not be accepted under any circumstances. This is the final call for thousands seeking a stable and respected career in the nation's central armed police forces.
