The Railway Recruitment Board has announced significant updates for the RRB JE 2025 recruitment drive, extending application deadlines while simultaneously increasing available positions. This move provides aspirants with additional opportunities to secure prestigious positions within the Indian Railways.
Extended Application Window and Increased Vacancies
In a welcome development for job seekers, RRB has extended the application deadline for Junior Engineer positions to December 10, 2025, until 11:59 PM. The payment window for application fees remains open until December 12, 2025, giving candidates two extra days to complete financial transactions.
Simultaneously, the recruitment board has increased the total number of vacancies from the originally announced 2,569 to 2,588 positions. This enhancement includes additional posts at Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala under RRB Jammu-Srinagar and Integral Coach Factory in Chennai under RRB Chennai.
Modification Windows for Registered Candidates
RRB has introduced two modification windows to help applicants refine their applications. The first modification period runs from November 25 to December 10, 2025, allowing registered candidates to revise their preferred RRB, post preferences, zonal railways, and production units. However, changes are restricted within the same selected RRB during this phase.
A second paid modification window will be available from December 13 to 22, 2025. During this period, candidates cannot alter their account details or originally selected RRB, but can make other necessary adjustments to their applications.
Special Provisions for PwBD Candidates
Eligible Persons with Benchmark Disabilities requiring scribe assistance must submit their scribe details between December 23 and 27, 2025 through their respective RRB portals. This streamlined process ensures necessary accommodations are arranged well before examinations.
The recruitment board has emphasized that all other terms from the original notification remain unchanged. RRB has also cautioned applicants against engaging with touts or fraudulent agents, highlighting that the entire recruitment process is fully computerized, transparent, and strictly merit-based.
RRB NTPC 2025 Results Expected Soon
In related recruitment news, Railway officials have indicated that the RRB NTPC 2025 results will be declared by next week. The Computer Based Test 1 was conducted from June 5 to June 24 to fill various graduate-level positions across different RRB zones, with 2,177 candidates qualifying for CBT 2, which was held from August 7 to September 9.
Once published, the RRB NTPC results will include roll numbers of candidates who have qualified for the next stage of the recruitment process. Aspirants are advised to regularly check official RRB portals for updates regarding both JE and NTPC recruitment drives.
