BOB Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Overview
Bank of Baroda has commenced the online application process for the recruitment of 5,000 apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. This engagement provides graduates with an opportunity to undergo one year of training in one of India's premier public sector banks while receiving a monthly stipend of Rs 15,000. Candidates can submit their applications through the official portals starting May 19, 2026.
Vacancy Distribution Across States
The recruitment drive covers vacancies across all states and Union Territories. Gujarat has the highest number of openings with 960 seats, followed by Uttar Pradesh with 764, and Maharashtra with 580. Other states with significant vacancies include Karnataka (483), Rajasthan (412), Tamil Nadu (199), and West Bengal (194). Out of the total 5,000 seats, 2,148 are reserved for unreserved category candidates.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be Indian citizens and hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification approved by the Central Government. Candidates registered under the NATS portal must ensure their graduation completion date is not more than four years before the cut-off date of May 1, 2026. Additionally, candidates must register on either the NAPS or NATS apprenticeship portals before applying for the Bank of Baroda apprenticeship programme. Those who have already completed apprenticeship training elsewhere or possess one year or more of work experience after graduation are not eligible.
Age Limit and Relaxation
For NAPS-registered candidates, the upper age limit is below 34 years as on the cut-off date. Age relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, and PwBD candidates will apply according to Government of India rules.
Application Fee
Application fees vary by category: General, EWS, and OBC male candidates must pay Rs 800 plus GST; female and transgender candidates from the same categories pay Rs 600 plus GST; while SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are required to pay Rs 200 plus GST.
Selection Process
The selection process includes an online examination, document verification, local language assessment, and medical examination. The online examination will carry 100 marks and include sections on General and Financial Awareness, Quantitative and Reasoning Aptitude, Computer Knowledge, and General English. Candidates clearing the examination will undergo document verification and a local language test for the selected State or Union Territory. Applicants can apply for only one State or Union Territory.
