The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has initiated the Detailed Application Form (DAF) submission process for candidates who successfully qualified in the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026. Eligible aspirants can now complete the application procedure for the Civil Services Main Examination through the official UPSC website.
Important Dates and Details
The DAF window opened on June 19, 2026, and will remain accessible until June 28, 2026. Submitting the form is mandatory for all candidates who intend to appear for the Main Examination. According to the commission, shortlisted candidates can utilize the DAF portal to submit or reconfirm their personal details, pay the examination fee, update scribe information, request assistive devices or large-font question papers, and indicate their cadre preferences. E-Admit Cards for the Main Examination will be issued only after the successful submission of the DAF.
Fee Exemption
Female candidates, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are exempt from paying the examination fee of Rs 200. Other candidates are required to pay the fee while submitting the form.

Students are advised to download and keep a copy of the confirmation page for future reference. The UPSC Civil Services Main Examination consists of nine papers. Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for the Personality Test (Interview), which carries 275 marks. The UPSC Civil Services Main Examination 2026 is scheduled to begin on August 21, 2026.
