UP Board Opens Scrutiny for Class 10, 12 Results 2026; Deadline May 17
UP Board Scrutiny 2026: Apply by May 17 for Class 10, 12

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has initiated the scrutiny process for the Class 10 and Class 12 results of 2026. Students who are dissatisfied with their marks can now apply for a re-evaluation of their answer sheets. However, the board has set a strict deadline of May 17, 2026, for submitting scrutiny applications. Late or incomplete applications will be summarily rejected.

Scrutiny Fee and Payment Process

The UPMSP has fixed the scrutiny fee at INR 500 per subject per answer sheet. It is important to note that written and practical examinations are treated as separate components. Therefore, if a student wishes to get both the written and practical marks reviewed, they must pay the fee individually for each component.

The payment process is strictly offline. Candidates are required to deposit the fee through a treasury challan at a government treasury. No online payments or alternative modes of payment will be accepted under any circumstances.

Application Procedure: Both Online and Offline Steps

The scrutiny application involves a combination of online and offline steps. Missing either step will lead to automatic rejection. Students must first fill out the online application form on the official UPMSP website using their roll number and centre code. After completing the online registration, they need to print the application form, attach the original treasury challan as proof of fee payment, and send the complete set of documents via registered post to their respective regional office.

The board has issued a clear warning: applications sent without online registration or those received after May 17, 2026, will not be considered under any circumstances.

Background: Result Announcement and Pass Percentages

The scrutiny window opens following the announcement of UP Board results on April 23, 2026. This year, over 27.5 lakh students registered for the Class 10 examinations. According to Mahendra Dev, the pass percentage stands at 90.42% for Class 10 and 80.38% for Class 12. Despite these high pass rates, many students remain dissatisfied with their scores, which has driven a significant demand for re-evaluation.

Students are advised to act promptly and ensure all steps are completed before the deadline to avoid disappointment.
