The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP), commonly known as the UP Board, has officially announced the schedule for the crucial pre-board examinations for the academic year 2025-26. This announcement is vital for lakhs of students enrolled in Class 10 (High School) and Class 12 (Intermediate) across the state, marking the start of their final preparatory phase for the main board exams.
UP Board Pre-Exam Schedule and Mandatory Participation
The pre-board examinations are slated to be conducted across all affiliated schools in Uttar Pradesh from January 8, 2026, to January 21, 2026. This uniform schedule applies to all government, government-aided, and private unaided schools. The board has issued strict instructions to school principals to ensure the completion of the syllabus well in time and to familiarise students with the official exam pattern.
These practice exams are designed to simulate the actual board exam environment, helping students gauge their preparation, manage time effectively, and build confidence. Every student must participate, and the education department has warned that no negligence in conducting these exams will be tolerated. After the exams, answer sheets will be evaluated promptly so students can identify and rectify their mistakes before the final showdown.
Two-Phase Schedule for Practical Examinations
Following the written pre-board tests, the practical examinations will be held in two distinct phases across different divisions of the state. Schools are required to upload marks for practicals and internal assessments to the official portal.
The first phase of practicals is scheduled from January 24 to February 1, 2026, excluding January 29 and 30. This phase will cover the divisions of Agra, Saharanpur, Bareilly, Lucknow, Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Devipatan, and Basti.
The second phase will run from February 2 to February 9, 2026. It will encompass the divisions of Aligarh, Meerut, Moradabad, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Varanasi, and Gorakhpur.
