Telangana Intermediate Results 2026: Medchal District Emerges as Top Performer
The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education has released the results for the 2026 academic year, revealing significant performance variations across districts. Medchal district has emerged as the clear leader, recording an impressive overall pass percentage of 82.73% among second-year students.
Top Performing Districts in Telangana
Following Medchal's outstanding performance, several other districts demonstrated strong academic results. Jayashankar Bhupalapally secured second position with 82.34%, followed closely by Kumram Bheem Asifabad at 82.16%. Mulugu district achieved 82.12%, while Rangareddy completed the top five with 81.61% pass percentage.
Notably, girls significantly outperformed boys across all top-performing districts. Mulugu district recorded the highest girls' pass percentage at 89.07%, followed by Kumram Bheem Asifabad at 88.93% and Medchal at 86.77%. This consistent pattern highlights the academic excellence of female students in these regions.
Hyderabad's Performance and Improvement
Despite showing improvement from previous years, Hyderabad continues to face challenges in Intermediate examination performance. The district recorded an overall pass percentage of 72.58% for second-year students, representing a notable increase from last year's 67% but still lagging behind the state's top performers.
"Hyderabad's improvement is encouraging, but there remains substantial work to be done to bring the district's performance in line with the state's best," noted education officials familiar with the results analysis.
Districts Requiring Academic Support
The results revealed several districts needing immediate educational intervention. Rajanna Sircilla district recorded the lowest pass percentage at just 58.69%, followed by Warangal at 60.80% and Adilabad at 62.50%. These figures indicate significant challenges in educational infrastructure and student support systems in these regions.
First-Year Results Analysis
For first-year Intermediate students, Medchal maintained its leadership position with 77.31% pass percentage. Rangareddy followed with 76.38%, while Jayashankar Bhupalapally secured 73.04%. Khammam and Mulugu districts completed the top five with 72.06% and 71.31% respectively.
Educational Official's Perspective
Venkya Naik, District Intermediate Education Officer for Rangareddy, provided insights into the challenges faced by districts with large student populations. "Rangareddy has the highest number of students appearing for Intermediate exams among all districts, with over 74,000 candidates this year," he explained.
"Over the past year, the district has seen an increase of approximately 10,000 students," Naik continued. "With more students appearing, the overall pass percentage has been impacted. We plan to implement several measures to improve performance, including increasing study hours, conducting more regular preparatory exams, and holding strategic discussions to enhance educational outcomes."
The education department's planned interventions aim to address performance gaps and ensure more consistent academic results across all Telangana districts in future examination cycles.
