Pradhan Urges Calm Ahead of NEET Re-exam, Warns Against Affecting Students' Mental Health
Pradhan Urges Calm Ahead of NEET Re-exam

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday appealed to the public not to do anything that could affect the mental health of students, as around 22 lakh candidates prepare to appear for the NEET re-examination. Speaking at a yoga event at Delhi University on International Day of Yoga, Pradhan urged students to sit for the exam fearlessly and free of anxiety.

Minister's Appeal for a Stress-Free Exam

"Today, around 22 lakh students are going to sit for NEET after a short while. They should sit fearlessly and free of anxiety. They will certainly do well. My many good wishes to the students," Pradhan said. He emphasized that the future of India's new generation should not be toyed with, and no one should make it a joke.

Without naming anyone, the minister criticized "so-called responsible people" who on Saturday behaved with "wrong intention" that affected children, urging them not to cause any more distress. "At least if you are responsible, if you consider yourself a true citizen of India, if you represent the people of India, please take responsibility and do not give any more distress to the children," he added.

NEET Re-exam Details and NTA Instructions

The National Testing Agency (NTA) had cancelled the May 3 NEET-UG 2026 exam amid allegations of a paper leak, with the government ordering a CBI inquiry. The re-examination is scheduled for Sunday. The NTA urged candidates to download their fresh admit cards, noting that the earlier admit card for May 3 is invalid. As of 7 pm on June 20, some candidates had not yet downloaded their cards, so the agency also sent them via WhatsApp.

Entry to exam centres will begin at 11 am and close at 1:30 pm, with no entry allowed thereafter. Candidates must carry their admit card, a valid photo ID, and two passport-size photographs, avoid prohibited items, stay hydrated, and arrive early considering traffic.

CBSE Results Update

Pradhan also provided an update on CBSE results, stating that out of nearly 17 lakh students, results for around 15.5 lakh have already been released. The process for revaluation, reassessment, and reverification is almost complete, and CBSE will publish those results very soon.

Pradhan expressed complete faith in the NTA, state governments, district administrations, the education fraternity, and the students, wishing all examinees the best.
