The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released a revised exam calendar for the 2026–27 academic cycle. The updated schedule covers crucial examinations such as NEET-PG, NEET-SS, FMGE, and final assessments for DNB, DrNB, and diploma courses.
The NBEMS has confirmed that the NEET-PG 2026 will be conducted on August 30, 2026, which is a Sunday. This exam remains one of the most competitive gateways for postgraduate medical seats across the country.
NEET-SS 2026 Scheduled for December
For super-specialty aspirants, the NEET-SS 2026 is tentatively scheduled for December 11 and 12, 2026, which are Friday and Saturday. Furthermore, NBEMS has fixed the deadline for completion of the necessary prior qualification as January 31, 2027, providing candidates with a clear timeline.
Revised Schedule of Final Exams Under DNB and DrNB Programme
The NBEMS has also revised the schedule for conducting the final exams under the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) and Doctorate of National Board (DrNB) programmes.
DrNB Final Exam Dates
- October 2026 session: September 25, 26, and 27, 2026
- April 2027 session: March 26, 27, and 28, 2027
DNB Final Exam Dates
- June 2026 session: June 18 to 21, 2026
- December 2026 session: November 19 to 22, 2026
NBEMS Diploma Exams Also Outlined
The board has retained previously announced dates for diploma examinations:
- NBEMS Diploma Final Theory Exam (June 2026 session): May 14, 15, and 16, 2026
- NBEMS Diploma Final Exam (October 2026 session): September 11, 12, and 13, 2026
