Mohini Ekadashi 2026: Significance

Ekadashi is one of the most auspicious days in the Hindu religion. It is considered extremely powerful and is dedicated to worshipping Lord Vishnu. This day falls on the Ekadashi tithi (11th day) of Shukla Paksha in the month of Vaishakha. A large number of Lord Vishnu devotees observe a rigorous fast starting from Ekadashi tithi and ending on Dwadashi tithi. The fast is observed with devotion and deep faith to seek spiritual growth, abundance, blessings, and to get rid of past sins committed knowingly or unknowingly. This fast brings peace, as Ekadashi is observed for mental peace, enlightenment, and salvation after death. It liberates one from the cycle of birth and death, and devotees attain a sacred place in Lord Vishnu's abode (Vaikuntha Dham). Observing this fast leads the soul towards Moksha.
